Photo editing tools are coming to WhatsApp Web and Desktop, and new emojis are coming to Android Beta
Photo editing tools are reportedly coming to WhatsApp Web and desktop apps, a feature that has previously only been available on the mobile app. These tools will allow users to edit photos before sending them, with the option to add stickers. This feature may not be immediately available to all users. In addition, WhatsApp beta version 126.96.36.199 is said to bring new emojis to the instant messaging app, which were first announced in April and have only recently been released on iOS.
WABetaInfo, a WhatsApp update tracker, has discovered new editing tools on the WhatsApp Web and desktop apps. These 'Drawing Tools' editing options allow you to edit images before sending them from the WhatsApp Web or desktop app. Since the beginning, the mobile app has included image editing tools. Users can use the new Drawing Tools to add emojis or text to images, as well as crop and rotate them before sharing them. The WhatsApp Web and desktop apps are expected to get an additional option to add stickers to images while editing, which is not available on the mobile app yet.
The tools can be seen on top after you select the image you'd like to share. The option to add text is still present at the bottom along with the ‘view once' option.
According to the publication, the feature will soon be visible to all users and they are recommended to update to the latest version of WhatsApp on Android, iOS, and desktop.
WABetaInfo also reported that the WhatsApp beta app in the Google Play Beta Program has been updated to version 188.8.131.52, which includes a slew of new emojis. Unicode Consortium unveiled these emojis in July of last year, and they were added to iOS 14.5 in April. According to reports, they will now be available to WhatsApp beta users as well. There were a total of 217 new emojis.
