After a recent bull run, a Paris bistro accepts Shiba Inu payments
Shiba Inu (SHIB) has been making headlines recently, and now a Paris-based bistro has started accepting SHIB payments, as more mainstream outlets embrace the crypto-coin that is now the 9th largest by market capitalization. The restaurant joins a growing list of businesses in the country that accept cryptocurrency payments. Shiba Inu's popularity among cryptocurrency holders has grown in recent weeks, and the restaurant has seen a significant increase in foot traffic since the announcement.
The bistro, dubbed "Le Bistrot d'Eléonore et Maxence," began accepting bill payments in Shiba Inu early last week, and the development was noticed by a passerby who shared a video of the establishment on a public group. The video was later re-posted on Twitter, with "Shiba Inu Accepted Here" stickers adorning the main entrance to the bistro.
EasyWallet, a global POS provider, and Easy2Play, a payment platform, announced an initiative earlier this year to enable cryptocurrency payments in more than 25,000 retail outlets across France.
Customers will be able to pay for goods in Bitcoin once the initiative goes live in early 2022, and the system will automatically convert them to Euros and transfer them to the seller's account. Deskoin and Savitar, which are now accredited in accordance with local legislation, will provide digital asset exchange services. In France, a popular food delivery app called 'Just Eat' allows customers to pay for food delivery using Bitcoin.
