ASUS may be releasing a Surface Pro competitor that docks to an external GPU, according to leaked images
ASUS could be preparing a follow-up to the ROG Flow X13, a convertible laptop that also functions as a gaming computer. A reliable leaker, Evan Blass, tweeted a photo of the ROG Flow Z13, which appears to be very similar to the new Microsoft Surface Pro 8.
We already know how the leaked ROG Flow Z13 will perform if it's anything like the X13. The X13, a convertible laptop, can be connected to ASUS' XG Mobile external graphics card (eGPU), which we found to improve the performance of the lightweight convertible.
The eGPU also functions as a USB dock with multiple ports, allowing the 13-inch convertible to be transformed into a full-fledged gaming rig. The ROG Flow Z13 appears to be able to connect to an eGPU in the same way, so Microsoft should be concerned.
The ROG Flow X13 was released earlier this year, so it'll be interesting to see what ASUS has in store for the Z13. The image was part of a larger leak that included photos of the ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 and ROG wireless earbuds. There's no other information available about any of these devices, and it's unclear where the images came from. ASUS could be preparing for CES 2022 in January, or it could be preparing a surprise product launch.
