The Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 has been announced with a 10.5-inch display and Dolby Atmos sound


On Wednesday, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Tab A8, the latest addition to the company's Galaxy A-Series tablet lineup. The Galaxy Tab A8 has a 10.5-inch TFT display with a 16:10 aspect ratio and thin bezels around it. The Galaxy Tab A8 features a quad-speaker setup as well as Dolby Atmos support. The tablet is available in three storage capacities: 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB, all of which can be expanded using a microSD card. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 has a 7,040mAh battery that supports 15W charging.

Samsung has yet to reveal the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8's price, but the South Korean company has stated that the tablet will be available in the United States and other regions in January 2022. According to Samsung, the Galaxy Tab A8 will be available in three color options: Gray, Pink Gold, and Silver.

The Galaxy Tab A8 features a 10.5-inch (1,920x1,200 pixels) TFT display with an 80 percent screen-to-body ratio from Samsung. With its One UI interface, the company has also optimized the tablet for multitasking, allowing users to use apps in split-screen mode with the Drag and Split feature. The tablet, as previously stated, has a quad-speaker setup with Dolby Atmos support.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 has an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera for video calls, selfies, and unlocking the tablet using facial recognition. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 comes with 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB of internal storage, and users can expand it with a microSD card (up to 1TB).

The tablet is powered by an unnamed octa-core SoC with a clock speed of 2.0GHz and up to 4GB of RAM. A 7,040mAh battery powers the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8, which charges at 15W via USB Type-C. It has LTE connectivity, as well as dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0 capabilities. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 has a 3.5mm audio jack, according to the company.

According to Samsung, the Galaxy Tab A8 measures 246.8mm x 161.9mm x 6.9mm and weighs 508 grams. The tablet runs Android 11 with the One UI 3 skin from the company on top. Customers who purchase the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 will be able to access Samsung TV Plus on the tablet, which includes over 200 free channels with live and on-demand content, according to Samsung. New owners will also get a free two-month trial of YouTube Premium.
