Google has unveiled an updated Trends Explore page, now featuring Gemini-powered tools that automatically identify and compare trends related to your searches.
The Trends Explore page has long been a go-to resource for journalists, researchers, and content creators, allowing users to track search interest over time, by region, and across categories. With the new Gemini integration, much of the manual work in exploring trends is streamlined, saving time and revealing connections users might have missed.
The redesigned page includes a side panel that highlights relevant trends and offers suggested Gemini prompts for deeper analysis. A refreshed interface uses distinct colors and icons for each search term, making it easier to follow them on the graph. Users can now compare more terms at once, and the number of rising queries shown on timelines has doubled.

Google demonstrated the update using trending dog breeds. The AI can populate graphs with up to eight search terms, such as “golden retriever” or “beagle,” and suggests related topics like “hypoallergenic dog breeds” or “large dog breeds.” Users can edit terms or filter results by country, time, or property to customize the trends display.
This update reflects Google’s ongoing effort to embed Gemini across its products, following AI enhancements already added to Search, Gmail, Maps, and Docs.
