According to the leak, the standard Galaxy S26 could support 45W wired fast charging. This would be a noticeable upgrade over the Galaxy S25, which was released in January 2025 with support for only 25W charging.
Samsung already introduced 45W fast charging on the Galaxy S25+ last year, matching the charging speed of the Ultra variant. As a result, the base model remained the only device in the flagship lineup with slower charging. If the new information is accurate, the Galaxy S26 would finally close that gap.
The upgrade would be especially welcome, as major changes to the base model are not widely expected. Reports indicate that the Galaxy S26 may retain the same 4,300mAh battery found in its predecessor.
Other leaks suggest that the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ could be powered by Samsung’s in-house Exynos 2600 chipset, while the Galaxy S26 Ultra may feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. Additionally, Samsung is said to have dropped plans to upgrade the camera hardware on the base model due to rising costs. As a result, the Galaxy S26 may keep the same camera setup, including a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera, a 10-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, and a 12-megapixel front camera.
