YouTube Music Users Complain About AI-Generated Songs Taking Over Recommendations

YouTube Music users are increasingly reporting issues with AI-generated songs appearing across their recommendations. Many listeners say the platform’s algorithm is actively pushing synthetic music, especially on the Explore page, making it harder to discover real artists and new releases.

According to multiple posts on Reddit’s r/YouTubeMusic subreddit, users claim that disliking tracks or selecting “not interested” does little to stop AI-generated songs from showing up. The problem is further worsened by the lack of clear labels, making it difficult to identify whether a song was created by a human or generated using artificial intelligence.

One Reddit user, described the issue as overwhelming, saying that nearly every other track in their autoplay queue was an AI-generated song with very few plays. The user added that clearing history, restarting subscriptions, and sending feedback reports had no noticeable effect.

Other users have shared similar experiences, noting that AI-generated music is also becoming more common on Spotify and Amazon Music.

The rise of AI-generated songs is being fueled by platforms, which allow users to create music across different genres using simple text prompts.

This trend comes at a time when musicians and record labels are increasingly taking legal action against AI companies, accusing them of using copyrighted music to train their models without permission.
