How WhatsApp`s Guest Chats Feature Works
Pretty straightforward: a WhatsApp user will be able to generate a link that allows anyone — even without an account — to open a chat in their web browser and start messaging. No phone number, no sign-up, no app installation.
These chats, based on current info, will be one-on-one only, and limited to text messages. No media sharing, calls, or voice notes. Still, this could be a handy solution for customer support, events, forums, or any quick conversation where registering isn't worth the trouble.
Interestingly, even with this “guest” format, the chat will reportedly remain end-to-end encrypted, just like regular WhatsApp chats — keeping things secure and private.
When is it coming?
Meta hasn't said when it's dropping, but this thing's already showing up in the beta, so it might be out in a few months. It should land on both Android and iOS.
If WhatsApp puts this out there, it can help folks wanting to chat quick, no catch; it can boost the app's accessibility. Since WhatsApp is used a lot around the world, even small additions like this can do a lot.
