Google Photos has introduced new AI-powered video editing tools, further enhancing its functionality. The tech giant from Mountain View announced three new editing features, including AI-powered presets, available on Android and iOS. However, for now, the new video editing tools are only available to Android users. This update follows the launch of Descriptive Queries and AI-powered Ask Photos features.
The new features, detailed in a support document, are gradually rolling out to all users. Additionally, Google is restructuring video editing tools on Android to improve accessibility.
The following editing tools are currently exclusive to Android users:
- Precise Trim Tool: The updated trim tool allows users to cut footage down to the frame, helping share specific video parts with precision.
- Auto-Enhance Button: This feature improves brightness, contrast, and overall lighting. Users can adjust video colors and stabilize them with a single tap.
- Speed Tool: Users can easily speed up or slow down videos, adding slow-mo effects to extend and highlight key moments.
AI-powered video presets are also arriving on both Android and iOS. First reported last month, these presets allow users to automate various editing functions like trimming, lighting adjustments, and speed control. AI can intelligently apply effects like motion tracking, zoom, or slow motion, adding dynamic enhancements to key scenes.
